These bags fold neatly into a compact size, which makes them practical for affordable printed merchandise and everyday carry. We use 150gsm calico cotton to maintain strength without adding unnecessary weight. Because calico is a natural fibre, you may notice slight variations in weave, weight or base colour from batch to batch; however, these variations highlight the natural character of the material.

How do you ensure your cotton is ethically sourced?
We manufacture all of our bags in SEDEX-certified factories, which follow responsible social and employment standards. This certification helps us maintain an ethical supply chain.
Are these bags biodegradable?
Yes. Because we use natural cotton, the bags break down at the end of their life. You can even cut them into smaller pieces and place them in your compost to support faster decomposition.
Can I custom print cotton bags? What's the minimum order quantity?
Yes, you can.

Can I get this bag in Fairtrade and/or organic cotton?
Yes. These versions cost slightly more than our standard ethically sourced calico.
Submitting artwork
Submit your logo or design to contact@ecobags.co.nz (or attach it in the ‘request a quote’ form) on any product page. Any format will be accepted for the purpose of a quote.
For production, we prefer vector artwork in .EPS or .PDF format. We can also work with AI or.PSD which can be edited. Please ensure all text is outlined. If you need a little graphic design support, to get your artwork up to scratch, we can help at nominal charge.
Design a fully customised bag
If you’re after your own bespoke style, unique colour, size, material and branding, please email us (contact @ecobags.co.nz) with a description of what you wish to achieve. Lead times are typically 10-14 weeks depending on the product specifications and transit time (sea or air freight). We can sometimes provide branded bags in as little as 30-days with express air freight but this will incur a greater cost.
Branding Methods
Screen-printing – Best for simple designs with a few block colours. It is the most economical way to brand your bags; however, screen printing is not ideal for logos with gradients, halftones or extremely fine details.
Digital print/heat transfer – This method works well for artwork with multiple colours and fine details. It uses heat to bond the design to the material, producing a permanent finish. Although exact colour matching can vary, this process delivers excellent results for detailed graphics.
DTG printing uses modified inkjet technology to create full-colour graphics. It’s a great solution for low-quantity orders with complex, finely detailed designs. Colours may appear slightly muted depending on the base fabric.
Embroidery offers a premium, hand-stitched aesthetic. We digitise your artwork so the embroidery machine can recreate your design accurately on your bag.
