This reusable canvas grocery bag is ideal for carrying heavier items. Canvas uses a thicker, heavy-grade cotton weave, which provides greater sturdiness and durability than regular cotton. For this reason, the bag also works well as a heavy weight canvas shopping tote for everyday use. All of our canvas bags use naturally grown, ethically sourced cotton fibres.
Even with its robust construction, this natural cotton grocery bag still folds flat for easy storage.It also features overlocked seams and cross-stitched handles for extra strength, helping extend the usable life of the bag.

What is canvas made from?
Canvas is a type of cotton with a sturdier, stronger weave than regular cotton. All of our canvas bags use naturally grown, ethically sourced cotton fibres.
How do you ensure your canvas is ethically sourced?
We manufacture all of our bags in SEDEX-certified factories. Because cotton is widely farmed in the developing world, certification helps ensure ethical social and employment conditions.
Are these bags biodegradable?
Yes, our canvas bags are made from natural cotton and will eventually biodegrade. However, the heavier weave means they take longer to break down than regular cotton, offering a longer usable life.
Can I custom print canvas bags? What's the minimum order quantity?

Submitting artwork
Submit your logo or design to contact@ecobags.co.nz (or attach it in the Request a Quote form) on any product page. Any format is accepted for quoting purposes.
For production, we prefer vector artwork in .EPS or .PDF format. We can also work with editable AI or .PSD files. Please ensure all text is outlined. If you need graphic design support, we can help at a nominal charge.
Design a fully customised bag
If you’re after a bespoke style with custom colour, size, material and branding, please email contact@ecobags.co.nz with a description of your requirements. Lead times typically range from 10–14 weeks depending on product specifications and transit method. In some cases, we can supply branded bags in as little as 30 days using express air freight, at a higher cost.
Branding Methods
Screen-printing – Best for simple designs with block colours and the most economical option; however, it is not ideal for gradients, halftones or very fine detail.
Digital print / heat transfer – Works well for artwork with multiple colours and fine details. Heat bonds the design to the material, producing a permanent finish.
DTG printing – Uses modified inkjet technology to create full-colour graphics. This option suits low-quantity orders with complex detail; colours may appear slightly muted depending on the base fabric.
Embroidery – Offers a premium, hand-stitched aesthetic. We digitise your artwork so the embroidery machine can recreate your design accurately on your bag.
