These liners are designed for 120L wheelie bins. A rim circumference of approximately 170cm or less is a useful starting guide. Measure all the way around the top of your bin, then check its height against the bag dimensions, allowing extra room to cover the base, fold over the rim and close the bag.

Fit depends on the bin’s shape and height, not just its litre capacity. Check your measurements before ordering.

  • 120L outdoor wheelie bins, subject to fit
  • Shared household and workplace bins
  • Food scrap collection where full-size compostable liners are accepted
  • Leaves and soft garden clippings where accepted by your waste provider
  • Tear off a bag, open it and place it in a clean, dry wheelie bin
  • Ensure the liner reaches the base before folding the top over the rim
  • Avoid excess liquids, sharp branches, heavy objects and overfilling
  • Leave enough space at the top to close the bag
  • Replace liners regularly and follow your collection service’s instructions for bin emptying
  • Store unused bags in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight
  • For best performance, use before the best-before date printed on the packaging

Compost the liner at home with suitable contents, or use an organics collection where your council or waste provider accepts full-size compostable wheelie bin liners. Check their guidance on what can go inside the bag too.

If used for general household rubbish, dispose of the filled liner in general waste. Keep compostable bags out of kerbside and soft plastic recycling.

Are these bags home compostable?

Yes. They are certified for both home and commercial composting. Certification details are listed above.

How many bags are included?

Each roll contains 5 compostable wheelie bin liners.

Will they fit any 120L wheelie bin?

They are designed for 120L wheelie bins, but dimensions can vary. Check your bin’s measurements against the bag dimensions, leaving enough room to cover the base, fold over the rim and close the bag.

Can I use them in my council FOGO bin?

Only where your council accepts full-size compostable wheelie bin liners. Acceptance of small kitchen caddy liners does not necessarily mean larger liners are accepted, so check before use.

Can I use them for garden waste?

They can hold leaves and soft garden clippings. Avoid sharp branches and heavy loads, and check that your collection service accepts both the liner and its contents.

Are they suitable for heavy waste?

Avoid very heavy contents, sharp objects and overfilling. A large bag capacity does not mean the liner can safely carry the weight of a full wheelie bin.

How long do they take to break down?

It depends on your compost. Warm, moist compost with good airflow helps the bags break down, while cooler or less active compost takes longer.

Can they go in recycling?

No. Compostable bags should stay out of kerbside and soft plastic recycling.

Will they compost in landfill?

They should not be expected to compost in landfill. Where possible, dispose of them with suitable organic waste through home composting or an organics collection that accepts them.
