Warm, moist, well-turned compost breaks them down fastest, while cooler home compost takes longer. Cutting them into small pieces helps.

Can I put them in my green bin?

Only if your council's FOGO service accepts certified compostable packaging. Many don't, so check with your council first.

Can they be recycled?

No. Compostable satchels can contaminate recycled plastic, so keep them out of kerbside and soft plastic recycling.

Will they break down in landfill?

Compostable packaging needs air, moisture and microbes to break down.
